The panelists will be sharing their internship experiences related to applying, interviewing, what they gained in their roles, and advice to internship seekers. More details will be coming soon!

Hello everyone, we hope you had a great summer! The academic year is about to start up soon, and SWE wants to be a part of your UW experience.
At this First General Meeting, you will get to know all about:

Meeting will take place in Guggenheim Hall, Room 220 from 6:00pm - 7:30pm. Doors will open at 5:30pm, with dinner provided.
This is a collaborative event between women in engineering societies including, SWE (Society of Women Engineers), WiSE (Women in Science and Engineering), and Phi Sigma Rho (Women's Engineering Sorority).
Come listen to presentations and learn more about each women in engineering societies and participate in majors "speed dating” event with members in varying engineering majors. There will be raffles and free pizza included throughout the event.

Interested in learning about what it takes to be a successful engineer? Now's your chance to talk with SWE members students about their own experiences in engineering and/or various questions you may have related to engineering (all majors welcome!)
Meeting will be from 3pm to 4pm in the Mechanical Engineering Building (MEB), Room 248
SWE is having a DAWG DAZE Ice Cream Social event starting at 2:30 pm in Savery 166 on Saturday 9/24! There's going to be a whole ton of FREE ICE CREAM and toppings.

Join the UW Society of Women Engineers for our March general meeting on April 6, from 6-7:30PM!
We will have five students from different engineering majors share their internship experiences; they will answer questions on how to be successful at your internship.
In addition, open SWE General Officer positions will be announced.

The Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Regions A, B, and J are excited to announce a joint region conference on February 18-21, 2016 to be held in the beautiful northwest area of downtown Seattle! The conference will be hosted on the waterfront at the Bell Harbor International Conference Center. Join us as we EXPLORE what the world of engineering has to offer, ENGAGE women of all ages and backgrounds, and EMPOWER each other to take on new challenges and seek out our passions.
The Region ABJ 2016 Conference will begin on Thursday and Friday with tours and activities designed for participants to get to know the Seattle area and participate in the local culture. On Saturday, conference participants will explore a wide range of presentation tracks from technical development to career exploration to inclusion and cultural awareness and much more. Corporate sponsors and partners will be on-site for networking opportunities and a career hiring event suited for all experience levels and career backgrounds. To close out the conference on Sunday after SWE region business meetings, Regions A, B, and J will host an outreach event to engage and encourage Seattle youth to explore what it means to be an engineer.
In addition to the SWE conference offerings Seattle boasts a wide range of activities including world-class museums and theatres, historic landmarks, scenic hikes and viewpoints of the Olympic Mountains and Puget Sound, foodie-worthy restaurants, and of course fantastic shopping! Seattle is also home to numerous major corporations, government and military branches, and private companies as well as a growing entrepreneurial presence.

Please join us on January 20th for the career fair, open to everybody, including all genders. Looking to donate some extra clothes in your closet?
SWE is holding a clothing drive! We are looking for new or gently used clothing. Large sizes are preferred, but other sizes will be accepted too.
Please drop off your clothing during our general meeting on Nov. 4th to be entered in to a RAFFLE. :)

All the clothes are going to the Jubilee Women's Center, a center that supports women experiencing poverty to build stable and fulfilling futures. Jubilee has served over 1,300 homeless and low-income women in the community with classes on technology, life skills and job readiness, community referrals, and a free clothing boutique.
